The “No Spies, Just Vibes” Privacy Policy

Welcome to roadtripnomads.au. We believe the only things that should be tracked are miles on the odometer and the best taco trucks in the Southwest. However, since we live in a digital world (and the lawyers insist), here is how we handle your data while you’re hanging out in our virtual passenger seat.

1. The “What We Know” Section

We don’t care about your deep dark secrets. We mostly collect:

  • Voluntary Info: If you sign up for our newsletter or leave a comment, we’ll store your name and email. We promise not to sell them to a random robot in exchange for a lifetime supply of beef jerky.
  • Automatic Info: Things like your IP address and what kind of device you’re using. This helps us make sure the site doesn’t look like a 1990s GeoCities page on your phone.

2. The Email Subscription & “No Vault Sharing” Rule

When you drop your email address in our box to grab a downloadable guide or subscribe to updates, it stays in our vault.

  • Our Promise: We respect your inbox and your privacy. We will never sell, rent, trade, or hand over your email address to third-party companies, random robots, or anyone else looking to spam you.
  • How We Use It: We only use your email to send you the specific travel guides, itineraries, or newsletters you asked for.
  • The Exit Ramp: Every single email we send has an “Unsubscribe” link right at the bottom. If you decide you’ve had enough of our road trip banter, one click lets you jump out of the passenger seat—no hard feelings.

3. Google Analytics (The GPS of Data)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see which of our road trip guides are actually being read and which ones are just gathering digital dust.

  • What it does: It uses cookies to track how you move around the site.
  • Your Control: We respect Google Consent Mode v2. If you say “no” to cookies on our banner, Google Analytics treats you like a ghost—it knows someone was here, but it won’t track who. You can also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. Advertising & Cookies (The Fuel Money)

To keep the servers running and the coffee brewing, we display advertisements. Our ad partners (like Google AdSense or other networks) may use cookies to show you ads for things you actually care about (like campervan gear) rather than things you don’t (like industrial-grade lawnmowers).

5. Affiliate Offers (The “Found This Cool Thing” Clause)

We are a participant in various affiliate programs (including Amazon Associates and others). If you click a link and buy a cool portable stove, we might get a tiny commission at no extra cost to you.

  • The Data Part: When you click an affiliate link, a cookie is dropped so the retailer knows we sent you. It’s like a digital “Refer-a-Friend” coupon.

6. Your Rights (You’re the Captain)

Depending on where you live (shoutout to our friends in the EU and California), you have the right to:

  • Ask us what data we have on you.
  • Tell us to delete everything we know about you.
  • Opt-out of “selling” or “sharing” info.

If you want to exercise these rights, or just want to send us a postcard from the road, hit us up via or Contact Us page.

7. Changes to This Policy

Like a road trip with a closed highway, we might have to take a detour and update this policy. We’ll post any changes here, so check back if you’re feeling nostalgic for legal text.
