Campground Layout and Features

Lake Arragan Seaside has 23 sites for tents and 24 sites for tents, camper trailers and caravans. The area stretches along the ocean and the river. Please be considerate of others when you select a site. Selecting a larger size when a small one will suffice may prevent someone else from getting a booking.

The sites are on a mixture of gravel, grass and formed earth (new bases have been installed in the tent-only area and some of the sites for both tents and camper trailers). The sites are fairly flat, but some levelling may be required. Each site is clearly numbered. A map of the camping area is below.

All sites are unpowered, and bulk water is not available

The drop toilets are located near the tent only site. The site catering to caravans is a bit further away.

Sites 24 to 29 receive less sun (especially in the morning) than the other sites accommodating camper trailers and caravans. Likewise, the tent-only sites are more shaded.

Sites 30 upwards have a better view of the ocean. They also generally get more sun if solar charging is important.

Sites 39 and 40 are the largest sites and have some view of the ocean. Sites 41 to 47 have views over the ocean.

Check-out time is 10am and check-in is from 2pm. However, we arrived at 11:30am and experienced no issues getting onto our site.

Rubbish bins are provided.

The cost of a site is $24.60 per night.

Lake Arragan Campsite Location

Lake Arragan Campground is located about 40 km north-east of Grafton. From the M1 near Maclean, it is a 20km drive along Brooms Head Road. The map below shows the campground’s location. You can zoom out for a more general location.

What to Watch Out For at Lake Arragan Campground

Like many beach-side campgrounds, some sites are more exposed to the wind than others. It is always a good idea to check the wind prediction before selecting a site.

During our stay we did not identify any issues at this site.
