MAM Easy Stays (also known as Mam Easy Stay) is a welcoming, semi-rural retreat located just a 30-minute drive from the heart of Townsville. Set on a spacious private property with roughly an acre of lush, level grass, it offers a peaceful alternative to the busy city caravan parks while remaining conveniently close to major shopping hubs like Willows and Riverway. With a backdrop of fruit trees and a seasonal creek, it’s a sanctuary for wildlife lovers where you can wake up to kangaroos grazing near your van and spend your evenings around a communal fire pit with a cold drink.
To stay at this campground, you do not need to be self-contained, as basic toilets and showers are provided.
Pets are permitted at this campground.
Tents are permitted.
Fires are permitted in above-ground firepits.

Campground Layout and Features
The campground is a large grassed area behind the owner’s house. It has about 20 well-spaced sites. The area slopes towards the river but there are plenty of flat areas.
Toilets and cold showers are available at this site. The facilities are quite basic. The toilets are portaloos; however, the showers are quite new. They are cleaned daily.
Rubbish bins and drink container bins are provided.
The site also has a swimming pool, which campers may use.
Water is available via a tap on the side of the house. It’s a good idea to fill up on the way into the camping area.
Two of the sites are powered, while the rest are unpowered.
You are free to discharge your greywater on the ground.
The gate is controlled either by a code as you enter or a remote kept in a meter box inside the gate.
The $35 fee ($40 if you are lucky enough to secure a powered site) is collected in the evenings.

Final Words
We enjoyed our stay here. It is relaxed and not difficult to get to Townsville. However, the next time we return to Townsville, we will probably stay at Country Vows Camping. It is a bit cheaper, and we prefer the vibe there.
Along with Country Vows Camping this campground serves as an endpoint of our Overlander’s Way Road Trip.

Country Vows Camping is also located near Townsville. It is about a minute drive from Townsville towards Cairns.
For those heading west, there are two options at or near Charters Towers: Macrossan Park Camping and Charters Towers Free Camp.
If you are going south, you may like to stay at Bowen Base Camp.
