Campground Layout and Features

This campground has about 10 usable, unmarked sites. While the area is large, much of the potential camping areas are covered in long grass. The terrain is also undulating, making some areas unusable. The benefit is that most of the campsites are well spaced. Most of the available camping spots are fairly flat and in full sun.

No facilities are available at this site. Take all your rubbish when you leave.

No power is available at this site.

There are wooden platforms on the edge of the river to fish from. A few sites are adjacent to these and are the prime spots.

Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The maximum stay is 28 days.

Fishers Riverside Campsite Location

Fishers Riverside Campsite is a 31 km drive north-east of Sale. It is accessed by good-quality sealed roads to the turnoff from Bengworden Road, from where it is 3.3km of unsealed road. The map below shows the campground’s location. You can zoom out for a more general location.

What to Watch Out For at Fishers Riverside Campsite

In wet conditions, it would be a good idea to check the ground off the road before leaving it. It looks like it can be quite wet and soft at times.

While we were there a water truck was filling near the camping area. They were working on the road at the time so this may not be a permanent situation.

Final Words

This is a fantastic campsite. The campground is very peaceful and has a lot of birdlife. It provides a relaxing place to stay, and we recommend it.

There are reports of the grass becoming very long.
