Campground Layout and Features

Scrubbers End Campground has about 6 sites in a car parking area. You will be parking on the bitumen. If you can manage it you can park along the edge of the lower car park and enjoy the grassed area.

Unfortunately, the area is quite slopped and we had some issues getting close to level. You will need good levelling ramps for this site. The slope is shown in the photograph above.

Clean and modern toilets are provided near the ski lift. We found them quite clean.

Across from the toilets there is a dump point. If you need to you could get water from the tap.

No power is available at this site.

There are some rubbish bins nearby.

The sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The maximum stay is 7 days.

This Campground is open only from October to May. For the months of June to September it is a permit only overnight parking area.

Scrubbers End Campsite Location

Scrubbers End Campground is located in the Dinner Plain resort. It is accessed by good-quality sealed roads. The map below shows the campground’s location. You can zoom out for a more general location.

What to Watch Out For at Scrubbers End Campground

This site is at nearly 1800m and, as a result, it can get quite cold at night and not much warmer during the day.

In the summer months there is not a lot open in the town. There was at least one restaurant and pub open during our stay. The supermarket was closed. Ensure that you have everything you need before arriving. There are shops in Bright and Omeo.

Final Words

Even though it was cold during our visit we enjoyed staying in Dinner Plain. The Campground is OK and we enjoyed our stay.

This campground features on our Great Alpine Road itinerary.
