Kurrimine Beach Bums Camping

Last Updated on 1 August 2026 by Rob

If you’re chasing that elusive blend of “big backyard” space and tropical relaxation without the noise of a standard caravan park, Kurrimine Beach Bums Retreat (often called Beach Bums Camping) is a standout pick. Set on a lush three-acre property just a short stroll from the sand, this spot trades concrete slabs for wide, flat grassy sites that are a dream for anyone. Whether you’re here to launch a boat for a day on the reef or simply want to park up in a peaceful tropical garden 30 minutes from Innisfail, it’s the kind of place that makes it very hard to hit the road again.

Campground Layout and Features

Kurrimine Beach Bums Camping has about 7 sites. Five of these sites are in a flat grassed area behind the houses. The remaining 2 sites are located near the house (see photo below). In our opinion to unpowered sites are the pick for those wanting space.

The sites away from the house are unpowered, with power available in the two sites near the house.

The site provides toilets and showers.

A feature of this campground is a 25m lap pool so that you can cool down when it is hot.

Prior to arrival, it would be a good idea to contact the owner on 045 588 0127. There are reports of the site being closed periodically.

We did not encounter any issues at this campground.
