Campground Layout and Features

Wilkos Point Campground has about 8 unmarked and well-spaced sites sites. The sires are on clean sand that is quite soft in places.

The site is open with very little shade. The ground is fairly level and provides easy access to the river via the sandy beach.

No facilities are provided at this site.

The shop at the nearby caravan offers fuel, groceries and alcoholic drinks.

This is a free campsite.

Wilkos Point Campsite Location

Wilkos Point Campground is located 45km east of Robinvale. The road is sealed until the turnoff to the site from the Murray Valley Highway. The access track is about 200m and is fairly rough. High-clearance vehicles would be best; however, with care, 2WD vehicles may access the site. If you have any doubts, it is recommended to park at the start of the track (there is a large area to do so) and walk in.

The map below shows the campground’s location. While the image does not show it, the site is on a sandy beach. You can zoom out for a more general location.

What to Watch Out For at Wilkos Point Campground

As mentioned take the last 200m carefully as it is a bit rough. We wouldn’t recommend staying at this site in wet conditions.

This site is near the Murray Valley Highway, so there is some road noise. It was not enough to disturb us at night. Camping at the far end of the site will mitigate this to some extent.

Be mindful that the river level may rise.

Final Words

We enyoyed our relaxing stay at this site as it is a great place to kick back and relax. We recommend it.
