Sims Campground is located near Mildura on the Murray River. It provides easy access to Midura and is close to Psyche Pumps and in Kings Billabong Park. Other than exploring Mildura and the area, you can fish (with a NSW fishing licence), swim, paddle a kayak or just relax.

Campground Layout and Features

Sims Campground has about eight unmarked sites. The sites are on black sand and are elevated above the river.

Many sites are well shaded, so solar may be an issue if you rely on it. The ground is fairly level, and in windy conditions, it can get dusty.

No facilities are provided at this site.

This is a free camp.

If you continue along the track, there are some more private sites. Just before reaching the site on the left, there is another area in which you may camp. A further site is located near the turnoff from the road that leads to Psyche Pumps. This area is to the left of this intersection.

Sims Campsite Location

Sims Campground is located 13km south-east of Midura. The last 2.5km are on a good-quality unsealed road. The map below shows the campground’s location. You can zoom out for a more general location.

What to Watch Out For at Sims Campground

The river is used by high-speed watercraft and can get quite noisy during the day. We were there over Easter, when the Mildura 100 took place. We just about needed hearing protection (lol).

As previously mentioned, this site can get dusty.

Final Words

We enjoyed our relaxing stay at this site, which is a great place to kick back and relax. We recommend it.

This is an endpoint on our Murray River Road Trip.
